From 1984, Nike engineers worked to create a sneaker that would bring the benefits of suspension-style cushioning to athletic footwear. By 2000, the Nike Shox R4 debuted as a way to keep runners comfortable, while providing them with the energy return they were seeking. Today, the Nike Women’s Shox R4 “Racer Blue” is set for a return in its original form, featuring a foam midsole with Nike Shox in the heel.
